Massage and reiki have been around for thousands of years, and are one of the oldest complementary therapies used. I have found, using a combination of both methods has become an invaluable tool in the treatment of animals. Each treatment offered is unique, and is applied appropriately in all circumstances.
As a Merishia Animal Massage Therapist, I use a pressure point massage technique, concentrating on areas of muscle on the body which are sore, tense, in a spasm, or under used. These areas have poor blood circulation, the muscles aren't receiving vital nutrients and oxygen to replenish the area in order to heal, instead toxins of lactic acid and metabolic waste build up causing pain and discomfort.
As a reiki healer I concentrate on releasing blocked energy centres, allowing natural energies to flow through the animals body re-energising and relaxing, thus enabling their own natural healing resources to deal with their condition or injury in the best possible way. - Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation, in-turn promoting healing and well being.
To allow our bodies own natural ability to heal itself, we must first assist in helping with the flow of energy and blood (circulation) surrounding these areas.
